These data were used in Zika et al. (2021) (doi.org/10.1175/JCLI-D-20-0355.1) and are needed to run the script 'MTM_demo_script.m'. There are based on data from the UK Met Office's EN4 analysis.They include:<pre>CTearly, SAearly: Monthly conservative temperature and practical salinity for January 2006 to December 2011 CTlate, SAlate: Monthly conservative temperature January 2012 to December 2017 lat, lon, z: Latitude, Longitude (degrees) and depth (m) all 1D darea: Area of each (lat,lon) grid point (m^2) vol: Volume of each (lat,lon,z) grid point (m^3) dyrs: Years between centre of early and late periods noyrs: Number of years of early and late periods AtlMask, IndMask, PacMask: Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Ocean Masks Basins: Abbreviated names of 9 distinct regions bloc:Structure containing the following entries for each region: mask: Region mask (can be on (0,1) due to fuzzy edges) name: Full name of region connec: Connectivity to other regions (0=connected, 1=not)</pre>EN4.1.1.analyses.g10 practical salinity and in-situ temperature data were downloaded from https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/en4/download.html and converted to SA and CT using the Matlab Gibbs Sea Water toolbox V3.03 (http://www.teos-10.org/software.htm).<br>
