Unravelling the Gordian Knot: Integrating Advanced Portable Technologies into the Analysis of Rock-Art Superimposition

This collection includes spectra from pigments in situ at the site of Pleito, pigment samples from the California landscape and experimental applied pigment samples. Complementary non-destructive analytical techniques were used to characterise the pigments and collect chemical data from rock art at Pleito Cave. These techniques were portable XRay Fluorescence (pXRF), portable Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and portable Raman.
