Capillaria of cat and foxes in Australia

The aim of this study was to determine the identity of Capillaria sp. eggs recovered from a kitten with non-specific respiratory signs from rural New South Wales, Australia. We used whole genome sequencing to determine the complete mtDNA sequence. The material was compared to the complete mtDNA of C. aerophilla collected from feral Australian red foxes. The newly obtained mtDNA represents the first complete mtDNA sequences for the family Capillariidae Railliet, 1915.
