REVEALING THE COMPACT OBJECT IN NGC 300 X-1
收藏资源简介:
Our goal is to test the nature of the compact object in NGC 300 X1, oneof only a trio of likely WolfRayet, black hole systems using NuSTAR andXMMNewton. As a primary challenge, we will test whether a neutron starmodel is compatible with the observations. If, as expected, we confirm thatthe compact primary must be a black hole, then we will analyze its spin asa function of mass and inclination. NuSTAR will firmly anchor the Comptoncomponent thereby allowing us to accurately disentangle the Compton andthermal emission. Without highenergy coverage, no meaningful constraint ispossible. Accordingly, this science is uniquely feasible using NuSTAR andXMMNewton in concert. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
