We aimed to investigate whether microbial rhythmicity exists in the rhizosphere at a depth where light does not penetrate. We investigated wild type A. thaliana plants and those with both a knockdown (lhy-11) and overexpression of the core circadian clock gene LHY in addition to unplanted Soil. Samples were collected 12 hours apart under light and dark conditions.
