资源简介:
This volume report is a detailed document annually submitted to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. While it does provide some information of national context most of the document focuses on 2 reports submitted by Jesse W. Fewkes: "Casa Grande, Arizona" and "Antiquities of the Upper Verde River and Walnut Creek Valleys, Arizona. Fewkes' report, "Casa Grande, Arizona," is described in the general introduction to the BAE report as the final report of his work at Casa Grande. A preliminary report was published in the Smithsonian Miscellaneous Collections, vol 50 (1907). Fewkes' report in the 1912 publication details the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument along with sites from the surrounding area. Included are detailed maps, photographs and inventories of artifacts found. Also included are myths of the Hohokam and local Indians. "Antiquities of the Upper Verde River and Walnut Creek Valleys, Arizona" provides descriptions and locations of several prehistoric sites around central and northern Arizona along with an attempt to estimate age. This document is provided by Google Book Search and is not intended for commercial use.
