Escherichia coli Raw sequence reads

South American camelids (SAC) are increasingly popular in Germany. Although they are frequently in close contact with livestock and humans, data of bacteria exhibiting antimicrobial resistance is sparse. Hence, a selection of 39 E. coli isolated from composite fecal samples belonged to 24 private SAC holdings in the German states Saxony, Thuringia, and Saxony-Anhalt were sequenced. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) was applied for typing, detection of pathotypes, antimicrobial resistance genes, and plasmids conferring multidrug resistance. This data could give us information about the genetic diversity of E. coli strains in SAC from middle Germany.
