资源简介:
This study investigates the lexical and linguocultural features of tourism terminology in English and Uzbek through a comparative linguistic approach. The research focuses on the semantic structure, word-formation patterns, and cultural specificity of tourism-related terms used in both languages. Particular attention is paid to the processes of borrowing, calquing, affixation, and semantic adaptation that contribute to the development of tourism terminology. The study also explores the role of national and cultural realia in shaping tourism discourse and examines challenges associated with achieving terminological equivalence in translation. The findings reveal that while many tourism terms demonstrate internationalization due to globalization and the influence of English as a lingua franca, a significant number of lexical units retain culture-specific meanings that reflect the historical, social, and cultural identity of each linguistic community. The research highlights the importance of considering both linguistic and cultural factors in the translation, standardization, and effective use of tourism terminology. The results contribute to the fields of terminology studies, comparative linguistics, translation studies, and linguoculturology.
