Using travel data from workers in Greater Kuala Lumpur, the study shows that people with fixed work schedules create most rush-hour congestion, while flexible workers travel at more varied times and often combine trips. The research finds that flexible work is most effective when combined with policies like congestion pricing and local coworking hubs. Together, these approaches can reduce traffic and help cities build more efficient and sustainable transport systems.
