These files contain information on the following: policy matters; government grants administration; requests for inspections of bank erosions, and flood prevention measures; river clearing and dredging; permission for riverbed sand or gravel extraction; land transfers, acquisitions, and permissive occupancies; right of entry arrangements; river control and diversions for specific areas; correspondence with government bodies such as Department of Main Roads, the Electricity and Transport Commissions for powerline installations, road and bridge constructions etc. Many files contain photographs and/or maps which show flood damage to roads and bridges and private properties, and soil erosion of river banks.
