In a woodlot with an open area surrounded by trees, ten silver maple adult trees were randomly selected. An adult tree was determined by being at least twice Patrice Chow's height. The dbh was measured, as well as the distance to its closest sapling, the sapling dbh, and canopy coverage. Measurements were done at Patrice Chow's breast height, while the canopy coverage percentage was estimated by myself.
