Red quasars\: a special phase in the co-evolution of supermassive black holesquestionMark
收藏资源简介:
From a systematic study of the radio properties of luminous red quasars, we havefound clear evidence that distinguishes them from normal quasars, suggestingthat they are a special stage in AGN coevolution with galaxies. To complementan ongoing VLT/XSHOOTER program to explore the differences in the accretiondisks of red quasars at z1.5, we propose new XMM Newton observations of 5carefully selected targets, which, in combination with an archival dataset ofnormal quasars, will allow a controlled study of (1) differences in nuclearobscuring columns, (2) intrinsic Xrayoptical spectral slope, and (3) coronalproperties. With this, we aim to uncover whether red quasars have specialaccretion engines and mass outflow rates. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
