Natural forest conversion exerts profound impacts on soil respiration (Rs), yet its differential effects on autotrophic (Ra) and heterotrophic (Rh) components and their temperature sensitivity (Q10) remain poorly quantified worldwide. We conducted a global meta-analysis synthesizing 452 paired observations from 164 in situ studies to assess how natural forest conversion alters Rs, its components, and their Q10.
