The dataset generated in this study is named “High-resolution mangrove mapping in Guatemala using PlanetScope imagery and a SWIR-free moisture index (MWDI2)”. It consists of three components: a Google Earth Engine (GEE) script, an Excel database (INDEX.xlsx), and an R script for statistical analysis. The GEE workflow was used to preprocess multisensor imagery (PlanetScope NICFI mosaics, Landsat, and Sentinel-2), compute spectral indices, and perform Random Forest classification for mangrove mapping. The Excel database contains the tabulated spectral values of MWDI1–MWDI4 and MNDWI under different cloud cover conditions for Landsat and Sentinel datasets. The R script was used to import the database, perform regression analyses, compute statistical metrics (R, R², and RMSD), and generate the scatterplot visualizations used in the study.
