Regional landscape differences lead to contrasts in the strength of environmental sorting among crustacean zooplankton metacommunities

This dataset was collected in the summers of 2011, 2012 and 2013 by the Industrial Research Chair in Carbon Biogeochemistry in Boreal Aquatic Systems (CarBBAS) in Saguenay, Côte-Nord and Schefferville, three boreal regions of Quebec, Canada. The dataset contains cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) metabarcoding of bulk zooplankton samples for each of 117 lakes spanning these three regions, as well as the coordinates, water chemistry, and morphometry of the lakes. This data was used to investigate the structuring processes of crustacean zooplankton metacommunities using joint species distribution models.
