Waste-water samples collected on March 2021 from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine LLSA building sewage. Screening for ESBL-producing Enterobacterales was done through culturing in CHROMagar-ESBL media followed by subculturing into Simmon's citrate agar with 1% myo-inositol supplemented with 2ug/ml ceftriaxone, according to EUCAST breakpoints, all incubated at 37C. WGS and subsequent bioinformatic analyses revealed the presence of two ESBL genes, bla-FONA-6 and bla-SFO-1 on this Serratia fonticola isolate.
