survivorship File name = Fig 14.13, WTPDs, Males, 5 months old, Autumn body mass vs survivorship, 08 May 2026 OLD File name = Fig 14.13, WTPDs, Males, 5 months old, Juvenile body mass in Sept-Oct vs survivorship until following mating season, 10 March 2025 These data have NOW been checked by one time by JLH, and one time by Rebecca Phillip. This EXCEL sheet created by Rebecca Phillip in Summer-fall 2019 This EXCEL file includes for marking of ALL WTPDs at ANWR from 2006 through 2012. OLD File name = WTPDs, OCT wts vs surd, 27 July 2020 Age in autumn >= 0.5 = approximate age in years since weaning Age in autumn = 0.5 = juvenile weaned 3-4 months earlier Survivorship = 0 = WTPD did NOT survive until following mating season in March Survivorship = 1 = WTPD DID survive until following mating season in March Overhaul = recapture, re-weighing, and re-marking of WTPD captured previously For Fig 14.13 for WTPDs, I use Age in Autumn = 0.5 (years), Sex = Male, and Survivorship = 0 or 1 All body masses are in GRAMS. These data used for Figure 14.13 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 08 March 2025. The number above each SEM line in Fig 14.13 indicates the number of WTPDs weighed and then tracked for survivorship. Date shown in this EXCEL files are means + one standard error (SEM) Note #1 for this EXCEL file: NO data for UPD autumn body masses vs survivorship, because I never captured and weighed UPDs in autumn Note # 2 for this WTPD EXCEL file: I cannot find raw data for BTPD autumn body masses, but see page 305 of Hoogland 1995 for BTPD data shown in Figure 14.13. For BTPD females >=1.5 years in October, the mean + SD body mass of BTPD females that DID survive until the next mating season was 829 + 106 grams (N = 285), and the mean + SD body mass of BTPD females that did NOT survive was 807 + 96.4 grams (N = 168). This difference was significant (P = 0.022, Mann Whitney U test). Note that all body BTPD female body masses this comparison were from September or October, and all the BTPD female body masses were from BTPD females that were >=1.5 years old in September or October, and would have been >=2 years old for the next mating season. In other words: all the BTPD body masses here are from are from OLDER BTPD females, with NO DATA from BTPD females that were only 0.5 years old in September or October (and would have been one-year old (yearlings) in the following mating season. The numbers for this comparison for BTPD female body masses in September or October vs survivorship until the next mating season were checked two times when I did the analysis for Hoogland 1995. For Fig 14.13, notice that comparison autumn body mass vs survivorship involved OLDER GPD males, with no data from GPD males that were only 0.5 years old.
