Based on region grouping of coherent and contiguous areas with minimum heat demands of 200 GJ/ha; basis for heat demands for 2015 is the Heat Roadmap Europe project. Areas with less than 10 TJ annual heat demand were excluded. HD 2015 was summarised in classes of 20, 50, 120, 300 TJ/km2 intervals. Heat demand density categories as suggested by the Danish Energy Agency for a rough assessment of district heating feasibility. Placenames associated from Open Street Map (June 2017), made available under the Open Database License. Any rights in individual contents of the database are licensed under the Database Contents License.
