INVITA Satellite data set

The dataset includes satellite imagery data collected from GRDC National Variety Trials (NVTs) for important grain crops conducted across multiple geographic locations and years in Australia. The dataset includes shapefiles which define trial boundaries, facilitating the analysis of crop performance at a trial level. The dataset includes imagery captured from PlanetScope, Airbus, Sentinel-2 and Landsat, Beijing-3 and TripleSat, which include bands in the visible, NIR and red-edge bands. The satellite imagery has a spatial resolution ranging from .3m2 per pixel to 30m2 depending on the sensor, allowing researchers to analyse crop performance at a trial, and sub-trial level. The number of measurements for each trial ranges from 2 to more than 10, enabling the analysis of within-season temporal trends. This dataset serves agricultural research and crop improvement purposes, enabling studies on crop variety performance, yield estimation, envirotyping, and GxExM interactions
