CrRUC-M: Crop residue cover datasets across global Mollisol regions (2019 to 2024)

The annual crop residue cover of global Mollisol regions (CrRUC-M) dataset covers global Mollisol/Black soil regions, including the U.S. Midwest (USA), Northeast China (CHN), Ukraine (UKR), and the Argentine Pampas (ARG). All data are provided in GeoTIFF format (WGS84, EPSG:4326). Files are organized by Mollisol region and year using the naming convention: CrRUC_s2_Mollisol_[REGION]_[YEAR]_v1.tif. In addition, the dataset provides the Mollisol boundary vector files as ESRI Shapefile(s) in WGS84 (EPSG:4326). The shapefile(s) can be directly opened in QGIS (or other open-source GIS software) and can also be loaded programmatically using common open-source toolkits, for example with Python (geopandas.read_file) or R (sf::st_read).
