Scraped data from Ranking Webometrics of World Universities

There are two types of data sets in this rar file. The first contains the information published in the "Ranking Webometrics of World Universities" pertaining to its January 2021 edition for each university in the following continents: Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa and America (divided into North America and Latin America). The second contains the same information for the first 100 universities in each region but refers to the publications of this ranking between the years 2012 and 2020.

The scraped variables are: the name of the university, its website, its position in the regional ranking, its position in the world ranking and its values calculated by Cybermetrics Lab for the impact, openness and excellence ranks. In the case of the historical data record, a variable has also been added that refers to the year of publication of the ranking in which the information is obtained.

This data set is part of an academic work for the subject "Typology and life cycle of data" of the Master in Data Science (Universidad Operta de Catalunya in the 2020-2021 academic year)
