Wildfire time-of-arrival dataset and method code: variance-weighted kriging of satellite active-fire detections, evaluated in the United States and applied to South Korea
收藏资源简介:
Companion data and code for the article published in Remote Sensing 2026, 18(19), 3321 (https://doi.org/10.3390/rs18193321). Derived 375 m time-of-arrival and ordinary-kriging standard-deviation rasters for 15 South Korean wildfires (EPSG:5179) and 29 western U.S. evaluation fires (EPSG:5070), produced by empirical variance-weighted kriging of polar-orbiting (VIIRS) and geostationary (GOES, Himawari) active-fire detections; the result statistics behind the tables and figures (per-survey and per-event Sorensen coefficient, five-configuration spatial block cross-validation with the variogram refitted per fold, variance-inflation sensitivity, and the status of all 21 Korean fires); and the code that implements the method. Derived products only; raw satellite inputs follow the original providers' terms. Supported by the National Institute of Ecology (NIE), funded by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (MCEE) of the Republic of Korea (NIE-B-2026-44).
