Analgesic effect of peripheral nerve block followed by pulsed radiofrequency in postoperative pain

Radiofrequency pulse therapy (PRF) is used in combination with various nerve blocks in pain clinics. Its action is to increase the analgesic effect of local anesthetics and prolong their duration of action, but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. We hypothesized that PRF could be applied to the treatment of postoperative pain. The aim of this study was to elucidate the mechanism of action of PRF on postoperative pain in a rat model and molecular genetic analysis.
