Digital Edition of the Quaternus 1398

This dataset contains the TEI-XML-encoded digital edition of Quaternus 1398, a late-medieval accounting book from the SS. Pietro and Sebastiano monastery in Naples.

The edition provides a diplomatic transcription of the manuscript source, enriched with semantic and structural markup in accordance with the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) guidelines. It includes the editorial criteria used for transcription and encoding, as well as XSLT transformations that generate a printable PDF version of the text.

This resource is intended to support research in digital diplomatics, medieval studies, and the digital humanities. The structured encoding allows reuse, analysis, and transformation of the text for further scholarly investigation.
