Long-term benthic ecology sampling, inner Frobisher Bay, 2016

Long-term data collection is required for monitoring changes to the benthos. Historical benthic sample data for inner Frobisher Bay was initially collected by the Arctic Biological Station between 1967 and 1976 (Wacasey et al. 1979, 1980) at stations near the city of Iqaluit and Cairn Island. This area provided an opportunity re-sample these historically sampled stations to assess the nature of long-term community change within benthic communities in inner Frobisher Bay. The objective of this research is to characterize benthic community change on a small and large spatial and temporal scale by comparing historically sampled data with newly collected sample data.
