SCOPE Transit 2015 - KM1502 - POC Proxy

These Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE) data products were produced by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with support from the Simons Foundation. 

This cruise on R/V Kilo Moana transited from Portland, Oregon to Honolulu, Hawaii in March 2015. Underway particulate beam attenuation data were collected using a Wetlabs C-star transmissometer plumbed to the ship's underway seawater supply. Data were corrected to remove a running <0.2 micron dissolved component of the signal and particulate beam attenuation data were merged with 3 minute mean (PAR, SST, Salinity and ship's position). An optical determination of particulate organic carbon (optPOC) is derived from calibration of particulate beam attenuation at 660nm to discrete POC measurements made via the standard high combustion method.  The timestamp is in UTC.
