We present a record of branched GDGTs in suspended particulate matter (SPM) from Rotsee, a monomictic, eutrophic temperate lake in Switzerland, over a 10-month period. Both core and intact polar lipids were analyzed. 16S rRNA sequences of the natural bacterial community from each sample were obtained to assess shifts in community composition and correlate these with lipid biomarker variations
