High-Pressure Synthesis of Martensite-type ε-VCy′′

This is a dataset supporting the high pressure investigation of the vanadium-carbon system using multi-anvil press synthesis. The HP-HT experiments reveal a novel martensite-type vanadium carbide ε-VCy′′, as well as the known β-V2Cy'. X-ray diffraction data in situ reveals the significant expansion of the bcc-V lattice, indication that carbon is enetering the interstices of the metal lattice.  Included here are in situ XRD data. single crystal datasets, as well as SEM/EDS raw images.
