DNA Barcodes of the Division of Mammals, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC. Mammalia

The Division of Mammals in the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) is one of the world's largest and most important mammal collections, comprising of more than 600,000 specimens with taxonomic and geographic breadth spanning across the globe. A set of taxonomically diverse specimens were sequenced for Cox1 to increase Mammalian representation on GenBank and are presented here. This NCBI BioProject contains DNA barcode records that were generated with financial and technical support from the Federally funded Smithsonian Institution Barcode Network with use of facilities at the laboratories of Analytical Biology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution.
