Study on Establishment of Cinnamomum osmophloeum and C. burmannii Chemical Authentication. (1/1)

The Cinnamomum osmophloeum is distributed the broad-leafed forests which leaves due to rich in cinnamaldehyde to have economy merit, and it also selected for plantation hortative tree. But Cinnamomum burmannii come from China which is very lower content in cinnamaldehyde, however, both Cinnamomum osmophloeum and Cinnamomum burmannii leaf conformation are very close, so it's very confusing to derive various problems about afforestation, utilization and ecology. This study is aimed at capitalizing chemical analysis method which is using principal component analysis to solve Cinnamomum osmophloeum and C. burmannii confused result from leaf similar. Experimental process is collecting leaf of Cinnamomum osmophloeum and C. burmannii of north, central and south of Taiwan. First, we are examination its moisture content. Second, using steam distillation extracts leaf essential oils to measure its content. Finally, using gas chromatograph analyzes chemical constituents of essential oils and establish data base about chemical constituents for identification authority.
