Rapid Ethnographic Assessment Observation Form

The purpose of the observations was to document the environment (i.e. the room the interviewer is seated in for the interview) paying particular attention to available living space for family members and the level of ventilation in the home. The observations extended to the physical structure of the home, number of physical structures in the compound, if there was running water, and the number of household members. The observations were designed not to be intrusive – but to simply ensure that after each visit the research assistant could accurately describe what the household was like and record any notable features.
