Municipality

The data set contains the polygons of the 1,103 municipalities of Baden-Württemberg including the municipality-free estate district of Münsingen as well as a municipality-free share of the French municipality of Rhinau, which lies in the right Rhine and is therefore administered by Baden-Württemberg acting. In direct comparisons, it is noticeable that in the statistics of the State Statistical Office, the municipality-free area of Rhinau is not counted to Baden-Württemberg. This area contains parts of the Taubergießen nature reserve and is therefore of considerable importance for the environmental and nature conservation administration. The dataset contains information about the municipality code, municipality name, district key and district name of the corresponding county or municipality, administrative district key and name of the corresponding administrative district. The geometry data of the community border 1:2,000 (data source: Surveying on site) comes from the ALKIS theme “community” of the “User-oriented geobase data Baden-Württemberg (NORA_BW)” and are linked to the factual attributes of the State Statistical Office Baden-Württemberg after a geometric validation in the UIS. Analogously with the municipal border 1:10.000 (data source: Capture from the Digital Orthophoto). The geometry data used for this purpose is derived from the basic DLM theme “community” of the NORA_BW. This data set is also validated geometrically and enriched with regard to the factual data. In addition, in the area of Lake Constance, the shoreline of the AWGN specialist objects “Bodensee – Obersee” and “Bodensee – Untersee” is used as a border line.
