资源简介:
This study focuses on the seed storability and germinated mechanism of the following 10 endangered or vulnerable tree species: Calocedrus macrolepis Kurz var. formosana (Florin) Cheng & L. K. Fu, Pseudotsuga wilsoniana Hay., Magnolia kachirachirai (Kanehira & Yamamoto), Paulownia kawakamii Ito, Anneslea lanceolata (Hay.) Kanehira, Benthamidia japonica (Sieb. & Zucc.) Hara var. chinensis (Osborn) Hara ,Goniothalamus amuyon (Blanco) Merr.,Ormosia formosana Kaneh., Maackia taiwanensis Hoshi & Ohashi, and Lindera erythrocarpa Makino that whose vulnerable level were evaluated by COA of Taiwan. The objectives of this project are: 1. To investigate the germinated mechanism and the conditions for germination of each species. The result will be a database for restoration of these endangered species. 2. To identify the seed storage behavior of these endangered species are orthodox or not, and show long-term seed storability if they are. The result could provide recommendations of conservation strategy of these endangered species. 3. To provide seedlings for elementary restoration of these endangered species. Seeds of Calocedrus macrolepis var. formosana and Maackia taiwanensis did not show dormancy. Seeds of the 2 species revealed orthodox storage behavior. Seeds of Calocedrus macrolepis var. formosana exhibited aging effect when storage at ambient temperature, so reducing seed moisture content immediately then storing hermetically at low temperature is necessary before storage. Seeds of Lindera erythrocarpa and Benthamidia japonica var. chinensis showed dormancy and could be overcome after a 1-mo and 3-mo 4℃ stratification, respectively.
