Supporting data for “Reappraising Boredom: An Investigation of Boredom Beliefs, Experience, Coping and Well-being”

These are supporting data for Yuen Yan Tam’s thesis entitled “Reappraising Boredom: An Investigation of Boredom Beliefs, Experience, Coping and Well-being” for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Hong Kong and King’s College London. A total of 12 datasets are included. Chapter 3 reports correlational survey data from three samples which investigated the characterizations of boredom proneness. Chapter 4 reports qualitative data and correlational survey data from four samples which identified people’s lay beliefs about boredom. Chapter 5 reports correlational and longitudinal survey data which examined the relationships between boredom belief, experience, and coping. Chapter 6 reports another set of correlational and longitudinal survey data which examined the relationships between boredom belief, experience, and mental well-being.
