FAIRsharing record for: MorpheusML

This FAIRsharing record describes: Multicellular spatial models incl. cell behaviors like motility, division and apoptosis as well as cell and tissue mechanics have become an essential tool in quantitative biology and multiple simulation frameworks coexist. The MultiCellML consortium within COMBINE develops model declaration languages and conversion libraries to foster software interoperability and simulation reproducibility. Building on the community‘s practical experiences with multiple simulators for the Cellular Potts Model, we developed MorpheusML as a first step towards MultiCellML and as a prototype standard to test the software infrastructure for sharing multicellular models across simulators. MorpheusML models are already shared at BioModels and other model repositories and they can be loaded, simulated and saved in the simulators Artistoo and Morpheus. Extensions to further simulation frameworks are in progress.
