This project aims to improve the quality of nanopore reads through error correction. Nanopore reads have the advantage of longer lengths compared to other sequencing technologies, especially via the ultra-long reads (ULONT). However, their lower accuracy compared to alternatives such as HiFi reads limit their usage. For example, reads with higher accuracy than Simplex nanopore reads are required as inputs for assemblers such as Hifiasm or Verkko. Through effective correction of errors in these reads, we can have reads that are ultra-long and accurate - opening up many new possibilities.
