South West of England: heavy goods vehicles 1995-2017

This statistic shows the number of licensed heavy goods vehicles in the South West of England from 1995 to 2017, in thousand vehicles. The number of vehicles was increasing fairly steadily between 1995 and 2004 when it peaked at 48 thousand vehicles. After that the number of heavy goods vehicles in the region dropped reaching 44 thousand in 2012, but increased again after that. In 2017 there were 48.1 thousand licensed HGVs.
