studying farmers' dynamic decision making

These pictures summarize a stream of research that studies dynamic decision making in food systems, that is, how stakeholders in food systems, especially small-scale farmers, make decisions to improve their livelihoods and adapt to change. For this purpose, we use qualitative research methods such as interviews. We then visualize decision-making in various ways and study the dynamic implications of the applied decision making using quantified simulation models. By doing so, we make local knowledge accessible and available for analysis and discussion.
