<p>The land use plan represents the type of land use for the entire urban area in general. It thus serves the urban planning goal of the city by representing both the already existing and the long-term intended uses of land.</p>
<p>What information does the land use plan contain?<br />
In particular, you can see from our land use plan which areas should have which benefits. Here are some examples: </p>

With the land use plan, we make a binding preliminary decision for the future urban development of Cologne. However, the land use plan does not have direct legal effects for citizens. Therefore, you cannot derive a building right for your property from the representations of the land use plan alone. A binding specification is only made by the preparation of subsequent development plans.</p>
<p>Our current land use plan has been in effect since 1982 and is always updated.</p>
