High-pressure low-temperature phase diagram of Fe5O6

The proposed experiment focuses on exploring the phase diagram of the novel iron oxide, Fe5O6, using Single-Crystal X-ray diffraction at high-pressure and low-temperature conditions (up to 100 GPa and down to 20 K). The results will allow us to investigate Fe2+/Fe3+ interplay and related physical phenomena, e.g. Verwey transition, in mixed-valent iron oxides at extreme conditions. This proposal is a continuation of proposal HC-5142.
