Rift Valley fever phlebovirus Raw sequence reads to identify circulating lineages in Kenya

Five bovine serum samples were collected from suspected Rift Valley fever animals in a farm located in central Kenya, precisely, Kiambu. Samples were subjected to Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assays to detect for Rift Valley fever antibodies. The samples were later enriched by culture in Vero cells in BSL3 laboratory. RNA was extracted and a single step diagnostic RT-qPCR was performed to quantify viral load. Libraries were prepared from the extracted RNA and sequenced on NextSeq instrument at ILRI.
