DATASET FOR "STRUCTURE-INDUCED TURBULENT UPWELLING AND SEDIMENT MOBILIZATION IN A TIDAL INLET"

This dataset originates from a field study in the tidal inlet 'Harle' between the East Frisian barrier islands Spiekeroog and Wangerooge of the German Wadden Sea. The measurement campaign was conducted from July 3rd, 2023, to July 7th, 2023. Aerial drone imagery, multiparameter (CTD) profiling, and moored five-beam ADCP measurements wered combined to investigate hydrodynamic mechanisms, pronounced turbidity patterns and associated engineering implications.
Further information on the data are found in the readme file (t.b.d.).

The moored ADCP data is quality controlled with the following steps:
- removed data during deploy and retrieval
- removed data above the water surface and those affected by sidelobe interference
- removed data with correlation < 50% and interpolated gaps linearly
- removed data with amplitude < 30 db and interpolated gaps linearly

This dataset is the basis for the findings presented in Herbst et al. (2026) (in review) and is valuable for researchers studying tidal inlet dynamics.
