SCRUPLES is a large-scale dataset created by the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. It contains 32,000 real-life anecdotes, totaling 625,000 ethical judgments. Each anecdote describes a complex ethical scenario, often involving moral dilemmas, and is accompanied by the distribution of judgments provided by community members. This dataset is designed to challenge state-of-the-art neural language models and provide room for improvement. Applications of SCRUPLES include enhancing AI systems' understanding of human ethical norms to ensure their safety and fairness in human-centric real-world applications.
