Copper mining and smelting has caused serious soil pollution and threaten the balance of ecosystem. Effects of metal contamination on the soil microbial community diversity and function are still unclear. This study collected metal contaminated soils surrounding a typical copper tailing to investigate the response of soil microorganisms to metal contamination.The understanding of the interaction between key microbial population and soil environment is helpful to reveal the microbial metabolic potential and physiological characterisics in tailing contaminated soil.
