Multidimensional analysis of Eurolect (Eurolect MDA)

The study applies full Multidimensional Analysis (MDA) to examine linguistic variation in the Polish Eurolect — a hybrid variety shaped by translation and institutional constraints within the European Union — by comparing it to the national variety, using a corpus of key institutional registers (legal acts, judgments, administrative reports, and citizen-oriented websites).The dataset includes:the corpora used in the study, encompassing four subcorpora of EU Polish registers and the subcorpora of corresponding domestic registers — legal acts, judgments, reports and websites. They were designed using a consistent sampling framework covering a five-year period, from 2011 to 2015. In this study each register is represented by two corpora: the EU Polish corpus, which contains translations into Polish (marked as EU), and the reference corpus of domestic non-translated texts (marked as PL). The corpora of EU legal acts and of EU judgments are further divided into two more narrowly defined text categories: regulations and directives, and judgements of Court of Justice and General Court, respectively.
