This study investigates the impact of RICTOR knockout macrophages on melanoma development. We hypothesise that the absence of RICTOR in macrophages reduces melanoma growth by inducing an inflammatory phenotype. Overall design: C57/BL6 floxed Rictor, LysMcre littermates (Rictor WT: Rictor fl/fl +/+ and Rictor KO: Rictor fl/fl cre/+) were injected with B16-F10 cells intradermally into the right and left flank. Tumor growth was observed until the biggest tumor exceeded 1000 mm3. Tumors were harvested from myeloid specific Rictor knockout and wildtype animals.
