This dataset was developed by the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on nanophotonic structures and their parametric design simulations. It covers a variety of nanophotonic structures including solar cells, anti-reflective coatings, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and other types, and is used to evaluate the performance of optimization algorithms when searching for optimal photonic structures tailored to target optical properties. The dataset supports prototyping for two optimization approaches: discrete search space mode and surrogate model mode, enabling users to quickly test optimization algorithms without running computationally expensive electrodynamics simulations.
