Homogenizer vs Lens-based Receiver

Data related to the dependence of received BER and SNR in the presence of different levels of turbulence. The data is taken for two receiver designs that utilize a fiber bundle and coupled lens array to capture incoming light. The two designs are: Design #1 -- a system of lenses for combining the signals from multiple fibers into a single signal and focusing the summed light onto a detector, and Design #2 -- a homogenizer for performing an operation similar to summing and imaging lenses to direct the "summed" light onto a detector. Data is also present for dependence of the received signal on angle of arrival of the incoming light beam.
