1s magnetic field variation from Sodankylä geomagnetic observatory (SOD) during Kannuslehto VLF campaigns 2008-2024

This data set is 1s magnetic field variation generated from the 2Hz samples of primary vector magnetometer of Sodankylä Geomagnetic Observatory (IAGA-code SOD). The resampling is done in MagPy2.0.0 software from the 500ms samples in IAGA-2002 format. The data includes X, Y and Z-components without baseline control.

The data set spans over 2008–2024 Kannuslehto VLF campaigns including only periods when the VLF measurements were available and geomagnetic activity was enhanced (gradients over 200nT/min). The days immediately before and after each geomagnetically active period is included covering together 320 days.

The dataset of 2008-2024 is used in manuscript Drastichová et al: " Geomagnetically Induced Currents on Power Line Harmonic Radiation Observed at the Kannuslehto Ground-Based Station" submitted to JGR: Space Physics.
