Gut Microbiome Composition Reveals the Distinctiveness between the Bengali people and the Indigenous Ethnicities in Bangladesh

The composition of the human gut microbiome can be influenced by numerous factors such as ethnicity, dietary choice, lifestyle, and geography. In this study, we have characterized the gut microbiota compositions of the mainstream Bengali population and four indigenous communities namely- Chakma, Marma, Khyang, and Tripura residing in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing.
